Saturday 21 May

First photos below are from our pizza night at Martinellis on Griday night. Yesterday Noni took off early with Linda to hit some of her favourite shops for some very specific items,  her Ivory soap, the yarn she need sot finish her next crochet project, her small paper plates that she wants for up there and a few other small items. Gramps got up after they left and so did not realise for half hour or so that she was not coming in, but this meant that he made his own oatmeal, yeah! He did his numbers and his blood which were all positive.
But for the rest of the day he was a bit sluggish, tired cold, I think just paying the price for three days going out of the house this week, with the last two being consecutive. In some ways those outings have made him feel more confident as he has done them all without oxygen. But the outings have taken their toll and so yesterday he felt less well and that kind of got him down, so he may need a pep talk this morning. He still not fully well, so he needs to be damped down every day now so he does not try to do more than he should. Small and cumulative improvements will continue as long as he sticks to the get well strategies.
Noni did not sleep well last night so she got up behind the eight ball as well, so once she got back from her shopping she had a pretty quiet day too, going to be as early as she could.
We had an early visit from Krista and Lucca to show gramps his new uniform for his baseball team, sponsored by Artichoke Joes! The both got a kick out of that.
Dad and I hit the farmers market and bought some wonderful Kentucky wonder beans. We also managed dinner tonight, production (me) and clean up (dad) and there was not a whimper from Noni and both ate well.
Noni's habit of putting notes on things has ramped up and just about everything storage spot has containers with notes on top. This small box contains all of her favourite small cars. There is also a picture of the small ironing board I covered on Friday and the tiny sewing machine she bought at Goodwill for $5. I have made a cover for that too.
There is a photo is of our wireless hotspot sitting in its normal charge spot. Dads iPad has conked out we are not sure whether it is cord related or something mor ominous, so we are sharing mine. The hotspot is a lifesaver in the quiet moments.
There are a few photos here from Dads walking excursion to Tanforan, beer trucks for the boys, poppies along the way for the girls. Also anyone like the look of these boar dies from Target? $30US
