Gramps was up early and feeLing really great, wanted to shave and keen to head up there and check out the room with Mom. Dad and Mike with Gregs truck were Ace Moving Company. They were working independently from us but happened to be arriving with stuff as we pulled in for lunch so we got to see them in action. The lunch was once again very good, thre is a standing menu and then lunch specials and dinner specials each day. GRamps was keen to try the salad bar and make himself a salad and he was pretty happy with that. The table next to us was very outgoing so we spoke to them about a few things like newspaper delivery, snacks, etc. we spoke to a few other residents as well and when we passed the small beauty salon Noni stopped and stuck her head on and said "hello Dolores" and Dolores came over and gave Noni a big hug. SHe is the sister of Rosie. Nonis famous hairdresser who never follows Nonis instructions.
Noni was happy with the rooms no thought that there was plenty of space and plenty of storage. Still some indecision around the beds, but one way or another they have decided they will move up next Tuesday and sleep there Tuesday night, 24 May.
Once back home Noni was keen for Dad to be sitting down and resting, and so they settles into the den under a couple of blankets. I used that time to haul out all of the bags and boxes Noni had piled around the couch and worked my way through them right there in front of them. Mom loved it and directed me to do this and that with various yarns for projects she wants to work on. So she has a collection of pages packed with project material or patterns ready to bring up to Atria. There was a whole pile of I sorted stuff, bits and pieces and she said "just through that out, done even look at it, just throw it in the garbage"! Gramps could not believe it. As always there was a box of photographs so they had a ball looking through those.
Dad had his outing with Uncle Mikes crowd, so he was waiting to be picked up when Linda arrived. We spent some time with mom and dad while they were sorting out their dinner and they threw $25 dollars at us and suggested we go out ourselves. We went to a new little Mexican Bar and Grill called Nüeve, which was great , most of the standard Mexican dishes but with a twist and then lots of other really interesting starters and mains to make for a really interesting menu. We got three starters and that was perfect.
